Its intentional. If you need 3tbs of scent for your project and lets say its an equal mix of Honey lavender and Vanilla then it would be 1tbs of each. 1 part in this case would be 33.3% of the total mixture. So if you needed to make a larger amount then you could calculate out one part as 33%. if your scent contained 4 ingredients in equal parts the each would calculate out 25% of the total amount. In a case where you have 1 part cinnamon 2 parts apple then 66% of the total amount would be apple fragrance and 33.3% would be cinnamon.

If you are working in drops, then it is a drop. If you are working in teaspoons, then it is 1 teaspoon. 1 cupful, 1 thimbleful, etc. It’s up to you. Just be consistent. If you are using drops then continue measuring in drops, don’t switch to teaspoons in the middle of the recipe unless it is written that way. I hope this was helpful.
