4th of July Chunk Soaps

Independence day is right around the corner. We thought we'd throw a patriotic twist on M&P Chunk Soaps.

Instructions for making Melt and Pour Chunk Soaps can be found in the soap making section of this web site.

The chunks in this example were made with clear melt and pour soap base. The blue chunks were made with Brilliant Blue Liquid Colorant at the rate of 10 drops per pound of soap base, and the red chunks were made with Allura Red Liquid Colorant at the rate of 10 drops per pound of soap base. Clear melt and pour soap base was used for the chunks because it renders darker colors.

For the over-pour, we used Clear M&P base with no color added, and White M&P base with no color added. The white over-pour provided higher contrast for the chunks, but the clear ones were just as appealing.

Very neat! Use a maple leaf mould instead of a star and leave out the blue and you'll have 1st of July soap!
