Thank you Vicky!  It is interesting to hear some one elses favorites.  I bring my test burns into work, and so far the co-workers have loved Banana Nut Bread and Spiced Cranberry, I use ecosoya.  Everything else I have tried hasn't been noticable but I guess that is the point of test burns. Wink

EZSoy and BW

Black Canyon - Soft but a very strong scent. I just love this one.

Amish Harvest - Throws really nice in my soy.  The cinnamon really comes out, but is toned down with hints of other spices and dried fruits. This is a great fall and winter scent.

Sage and Lemongrass - smells a bit like Pledge.  Throws strong.

I use soy/cottonseed blend...

Amish Harvest is AWESOME...very strong cinnamon scent with undertones of baked goods.  Smiley

Lemon Pound Cake is AWESOME....very strong lemon with notes of vanilla cake

Vanilla Mint is GREAT...it's a bit milder, but the 2 scents really compliment each other & the throw is great.

Cornocopia (sp?) is AWESOME....I thought it smelled like caramel apples.  Throw is great.

Home for the Holidays...very strong.  Not my favorite scent.  One customer told me that it smelled like Comet.  LOL  Throw is great though.

Mulberry...very strong.  Again, not my favorite.  Seems to be a spicy mulberry.  Didn't seem fruity at all to me.  Throw is great though.

Blackberry Sage...very strong.  Didn't like this one at first, but it's growing on me.  Throw is great.

Fruit Slices..Is GREAT.  It throws like a champ.  Smiley

Vanilla Passion...is AWESOME.  Love this one & it throws great.  Reminds me of VS Vanilla Lace.

Hope that helps somebody.  They all throw really well & are very strong.  My nose just wasn't very fond of a few.  Smiley

Just curious as to how much Peaks FO you're all using per lb? I just received some Peaks FO's yesterday (haven't tried them yet) but I am used to using 1.5oz per lb (I am only making tarts at the moment) but I noticed that they recommend .5 - 1oz per lb. So...how much are you all using?

Thanks!

Some of the FO's require only 1/2 oz. and some require the full oz.  Cinnnamon and Balsam seems to get by on only 1/2 oz.

I hate to even ask this... but does anyone have any suggestions about FO to stay away from in soy?  I've always heard great things about Peaks.. but there seem to be even fewer that WON'T work... just curious...

Any recommendations for just a pure vanilla and a jasmine?

I have been "commissioned" to make vanilla/jasmine soy candles by a friend. So far, the FOs I've tried are amazing sniffed cold but not much throw in soy.

I just tested Peaks Key Lime in soy tonight and it is awesome.  Very strong without being overwhelming.  I could even smell it upstairs  Cool  I used 1.5 oz PP in all soy wax.  Cure time was 2 weeks.

This is very new to me. I am just starting and found soy wax to easier to use.   I am a newbie with working with wax especially the soy.  Any tips would be helpful.  I did my first candles this weekend and found it very easy to work with.  What do you mean by Peaks FO's do you mean the scents?  No to sound stupid. Sandy

First welcome to the board, there is a lot of great people on here with a ton of experience.
When they say FO they are talking about a fragrance oil.  Peak Candle Supplies (one of the sponsers of this board) sells fragrance oils as well as many other candle supplies.  I have used some of their fragrance oils and have found all of the ones I have tried to be great at throwing scent. HTH (hope that helps).

I've tried Peak's macintosh apple in my 100% soy & 3% BW at 9% FO(1.5 oz/lb).  OOB it's very true to it's name, cold throw was strong, but I got very little hot throw even after a couple of weeks curing  Embarassed
