What would be helpful and give everyone a better idea of what wick to start testing with is: Type of wax Percentage of fragrance Color & what kind used (blocks, liquid, flakes) Diameter of jar & height of jar helps too Any other additives (stearic, Universal additive, etc.), and of course single, or double wicked. All the above information would be comparing apples to apples, instead of apples to oranges. I am in the process of changing my jars/formula and will post my wicking results as soon as I figure it all out.

I use Cargill/Phytowax Container and just had my first good success story: 16oz. apothocary HTP 1212 (1) burns like a dream; complete melt pool after 3rd 6 hour burning session. Absolutely no hang ups. Flowerpot votive LX10. Thought it was going to be a loser cause had bad hang up but last 2 days of burning took every drop off the walls. No trimming, no mushroom. 48 hour burn time. Both were poured in baby powder scent. 1.5oz.p/# 1 drop red dye.

| Hello, I'm new to candle making. I would like to know how long this candle will burn. Will it not burn very long without additives? Please inform as I've been told in a class recently that I must use additives to for candles to last in their burn time...Perhaps there's a difference with "soy" candles? Thanks

You do not have to add anything to straight soy for it to burn longer..but there are people who do like Beeswax and universal additives.. etc.. on the side of this board there is a handy calculater that you can use ..to test your burn rate in.. you may want to test with different additives to rate your burn yourself.. but other then that all I can say that if your wick is to big the soy will burn up faster... | Thank you so much Cathy. I want to try pillar candles using soy. I understand that it's healthier to burn.
