Facial dandruff

Does anyone have a good (and preferrably simple) recipe for helping this? Ok, I don't know exactly what it is. It's like dry skin patches on his faces that flakes off and is red and raw underneath. Worse around the eyebrows, moustache, etc. I call it dandruff because using that kinda of shampoo on his face too is the only thing that help. But geeeezz... it stinks  Undecided

Sounds like he needs to see a doctor to find out what it is. Is this something new? Could be a variety of things, before trying a home remedie I would see a doc.

The Dr is the best one to make a call
on this, but from the symptoms you describe,
it allmost sounds like psoriasis.

I also think it sounds like psoriasis.  I've heard that Neem oil is suppose to be really good for that and other skin disorders.  Sorry no recipe to share though.

If it is psoriasis, you might want to try KuKui Nut Oil.  Do a google search for it.  When I was visiting Hawaii, I found a lotion from "Oils of Aloha".  I bought some and it helped my extreme winter dry skin.  On the package it also said it helps with psoriasis.  I have since been making my own lotion with Kukui Nut oil.  It's like a cure all with me.  Here is a link to an article about the oil.

My bf had bad psoriasis (how ever u spell it Undecided)all over his body, he used dandruff shampoo and it cured it, he continues to use it as a body wash.  I have bad dandruff on my scalp, and around my eyebrows.  As well as really dry, flaky skin on my face.  One application of straight unrefined shea has not only cured these problems, but is helping to clear up a few patches of eczema I had.  I've only applied it to my scalp twice now, and haven't seen a trace of flakes, but I don't know the long term effects yet.  It did seem to instantly cure it, both on scalp and face, including eyebrows, but I don't have any suggestions yet on how frequeantly this should be repeated.

It sounds as if the shampoo could be making it worse - facial conditions like that often need to be treated tenderly and gently, and if he's using something like Head & Shoulders, he could be exacerbating the problem.

I use something called the Oil Cleansing Method that is amazing and very gentle - you could sub emu or kukui nut oil for the other oils in it, making it a 50% castor, 25% each emu and kukui nut mix. You can see what I mean on my site: www.purehenry.com/ocm.htm

I have that....it is called dermatitis.  I have to use a steroid cream from the doctor.  I have used all kinds of potions, soaps, shampoos before and this is the only thing that helps.  The areas are around my nose, forehead, and hairline around ears.  I would go to the doctor.  LEt me know if you find something besides a steroid cream to work.

The dr. also told me that sunshine helps it not to be as bad which must be true b/c I have more of a problem in the winter.
