I didn't set them up perfectly in a cylinder type shape, I just dropped them into the mold and which ever way they landed is the way I poured on top of them.  If you do stack them perfectly together, you won't have your last pour filling in between each circle, which won't give you that neat swirl.

Aww, I wish I had seen these pics BEFORE I poured the filler wax just now! I used too many colored ones and they all stacked flat in the mold. No telling what kinda mess I'll have when I unmold it tomorrow.  Sad

Atleast with your wonderful pictures, I'll know better for the next try. Thanks!

All the circles are the same size, just shifted around within the mold before you pour the final wax.

Thanks so much for the step by step instructions.  I've printed them out for my 2006 pillar to make book.  These are so cool I'm tempted to change my testing plans and try pillars earlier.

Thanks for the directions-might have to try this someday. But I wonder if somebody might have this technique trademarked or patented. That would be a shame.

Hey SteveinPA,

As long as your making for yourself and not Marketing it as "MOTIONS" as Pier1 is or even using their fragrances is that still a problem based on the TM industry?

I don't know-I was just curious about it,since I read somewhere about a person trying to patent the dipped bear idea.Hope I didn't offend you-that wasn't my intention.

Your welcome!  I've recently created a new one with Oceans FO.  I have forwarded the directions and more precise pics to Alan.  Once he approves everything, it should all be posted in the Techniques and Ideas on the left.
