Pie Candle ?

I don't usually come to this side of the board but I have a question on the pie candles. I just started playing around making the 5" ones. How are they suppose to burn?....Just in the middle or the whole crust as well. The one I made and am testing is burning in the middle almost to the edge and the crust is getting very soft but melting. Is this ideal? I am not use a topper if that helps. Thanks in advance

HI Tara, our pies both the 3 and the 5 inch are wicked so the crust remains intact on the pot pies. They burn just to the inner edge of the crust. I find this way they remain looking half decent throughout the life of the candle and as well found it difficult to get that crust edge to consume itself with any wicking we tested. Someone else may do it differently though! LOL Wendy

Same here-burn to leave the crust. I tell people to pluck out the tabs, and fill it with potpourri after the candle is gone.
