Palm wax votives

I've just about given up on wicking for palm votives.  It seems that every wick I have tried so far starts out great.  After the wax spills over into the votive holder, it is still burning well up until the meltpool makes it completely across.  At that point, the flame will be itty bitty but not quite drowned out.  I have tried HTP wicks from 52 up to 83.  All had the same results.  I haven't tried 105 yet.  Is there a different wick I should try?  The only other wicks I have on hand are RRD 47 and 50 which I use for my 3inch pillars.  *pulling my hair out*

I used an RRD 29 on palm wax votives and they burned great.  Now, that being said, I used Astor Q container wax and poured into votive containers.  I haven't poured votives with my palm pillar wax yet. HTH

For palm votives it is a must to have the very tight fitting votive holders. I use an LX-12 for most fo's and it works fine. I tried burning some in the flower pot votive holders and never did find a wick for a good burn.

After much frustration I finally found a great wick for my palm votives.  I use LX 16 in both the Palm 3 wax and Strahl & Pitch SP486P.  I also want to echo what sewhite stated about the tight fiting votive holders...very very important!  Smiley
