Yeah, I got that notice today too. Might have to try it out, just because. You never know when that perfect wax will come along. I have never known 100% soy to have a nice set up after pouring or burning. I would be really curious about that. And the frosting....always have that with 100% soy. Might be worth buying a sample bag to try.

They must have gotten a lot of complaints that the other one wasn't throwing well without a lengthy curing time. Since you like this wax already Henry, this might be very good for you.

Definately. I really like this wax for containers so I hope they improved the throw without messing up anything else I'm pretty sure Itsjustme said it was DPS Wax that will have it, but I'm hoping somewhere on the east coast will have it also to order soon.

I remember your testing this pretty extensively. Do you get nice smooth tops after pouring and after burning? Do you have any frosting? Is the one you are using now 100% soy as well or did they take something out of this new one?

I got perfect tops before AND after all burns. NO frosting at all using it by itself (well, none worth noting) OR with BW. The only time I got a VERY small amount of frosting was when I added vybar (which did nothing for throw). The original one was the one I tested and am currently using as my container soy: "EcoSoya™ CB-Advanced Soy is made from pure 100% soybeans and carefully selected botanical oils." (from NGI's site). So, the new one says "100% Soy (NO botanicals added)".

So is this just 100% soy wax?
If nothing is mixed to make it smooth when pouring and setting up, and to help with frosting (the bio oils) will it just be the same as the 100% soy wax we are all using now..Will it then have the same frosting problems??
What will be the difference in this wax
I am so confused now!?!

I think a good analogy would be a shea butter product that B&B people make. You can have it made with shea butter and shea oil - but its still made out of 100% shea.

I love this wax too, hope the new improved version ---only helps the cold scent throw ------and they haven't messed with any of the other "good" properties. I've not heard from DPS yet, hope I can mention that here without getting into trouble.
Have been retesting like a demon here with my last 50# of the CB-ADV, it's been really humid here , can not seem to get non-streaky candle tops (like I used to)...am not using any dye, but just 1 oz. of strong FO per #. In the last 10 batches - 2 have perfect tops (glossy - no streaks) Perfect tops seem to go along with in-house humidity at 55%, does this make sense?? The FO's I've been using are the ones that the cold throw is superb the same day you make it---now, am anxious to try the new stuff, have my fingers crossed that the new wax hasn't changed TOO much.

Try having a fan blow across the tops of the containers. Read the fan reduces this during times of high temp/humidity.

Just found out that Bitter Creek North has this in already. It's not on their website yet but I called and they got the new stuff last week. There is a small discussion about it on the BC message board. I'm really excited to try it because I love so many things about the "old" version but did feel that the scent throw could have been a little better. I'll post results when I get a few made and burned.
