Well, I gave it a week, and have done four full burns on Blue Vanilla.   After having tested another one like it using the 30 ply flat braid, and feeling the need to wick up, I pulled the wick out and replaced with an RRD55.

Cold throw is OK, considering the shell is not scented, only the soy filler.  After the first two four hour burns, the entire house had a hint of vanilla, which I didn't think was too bad for a 2.5" MP.

The pic shows it about halfway through fifth burn, total burn hours so far is 17.  I have not hugged it at all (so far).

It looks good so far.  You really won't be able to hug it like you do a paraffin candle.  You will be able to push it in, but it is going to break off.  So I just break it off a little at a time and drop it in the melted wax, but am careful not to put too much in and overload the meltpool.  Hope that makes sense.

Actually, it is a hybrid: paraffin shell with soy filler.  I'm playing around with some old S1 and power tools  Grin

I have another one just like it, I've been hugging it all week, but needs to wick up.
