2nd pour

Hey there, I was wondering if anyone possibly had an answer to a couple of my problems that I seem to be encountering. First off, I am using Ecosoy PB and Peaks FO, 1 oz per lb. For some reason, I am getting a thin white line after my 2nd pour on my votives. I am heating the wax to about 180 or so, then adding the dye and FO then pouring at about 175. I then wait 2 to 3 hours and then reheat my wax to about 180 or so then do my 2nd pour. I have tried not waiting the 2 or 3 hours, only a half hour to an hour, but the same thing happens. Also, sometimes I get one large single bubble on the top of my votive after the 2nd pour dries. Not sure how to remedy that, it looks horrible Sad Also I have noticed that I get small white bubble spots on the bottom of the squares of my clamshell molds after the wax is dried. I also seem to be getting little white dots on the bottom of my votives as well. I'm not sure if this is frosting because the odd one is a bubble. So I'm not sure if it is a bubble issue or what. Any suggestions that anyone may have for my problems would be great. Thanks everyone!

I think you are pouring too hot. I was told that the best pour temp for PB is about 135. This is what I have been doing and I haven't had any of the problems you mentioned. Then for the second pour the wax is supposed to be 5 degrees hotter than the first pour. If I get anything weird on the top, like a bubble or sometimes the wax will crack around my wick pin, I take a heat gun and go over the top. You can totally resurface the top with a heat gun. (or even your blow dryer)Hope this helps  Smiley
