Trouble With Labels Sticking on the Lids....

I make my own labels, I've been having trouble getting them to stick, they come lose. I used the Aleene's clear gel tacky glue, some stick good and others don't, The next time I glued my labels I used a little more, but there still not sticking good. Then I tried the Aleene's Fast Grab tacky glue. I'm still having the same problem. Could anyone help on suggesting what would be a good glue to use?

Did you clean your jars first by rubbing with some alcohol.....you may have some leftover wax/oil residue? For paper to glass you can't beat self-adhesive for permanent adhesion and neatness. Next best is using a spray adhesive for paper.

thegirlwithacurl, I'm not put the labels on the jars, I'm putting them on the lids. would cleaning the lids with alcohol work? the spray adhesive would work just as well on the lids?
