Hey, i noticed you have been testing KY soy wax with the LX and square braid.  have you tried the RRD series?

They have worked well for me.  I will post pics later on showing my results.

Hi, sorry, no I have not. I had a sample pack of the RRDs and tried them in a container soy test at http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=veggiewax;action =display;num=1102308269;start= and wasn't too happy with how much they bent. So I put them aside and tried just the two other wick series that I use most (braids and LX). I'd be real curious as to your tests though - perhaps I'm missing something. Smiley

Thanks.

Hi guys!  Grin If I may butt in, I have tested an LX28 in the red apothecary jar (3" wide), and so far I like it!  It stands up straight during burn, not like the HTP105 I had in it.  Haven't tried any others yet.

Please keep an eye out for my pillars in the Gallery.  I will debut them soon!   Wink

Hi,

You are getting away with the LX28 because you are using the S1 in them right? S1, like CB Advanced, is an easier to burn soy, so if you were using like KY125 in that you'd have to most likely go up to an LX30 - and that is where the LXs top out - thats the biggest size. Plus, the LXs burn a tad on the cool side too, so, if you were to switch soys you may just make it in your container with a 30. After than you'd have to go with something else like a cotton or something. 3" jars with straight soys (not to mention added BW) are a bit of pain to wick.

I used the 125 before switching to a soy/paraffin blend and in my 3" jars double wicking was the only way to get a good burn.  I used (2) LX 12, 14 or 16 depending on the scent, the 14's worked the best for most scent.....nice slow, clean burn!!   Smiley
