I bought a mini muffin pan at Wal Mart today.  I bought the steel one.  Is that one OK?  They had one that was teflon lined but I just got the plain did I make a mistake or should this work .

I'm making tarts and using it for leftover wax.  No wicks and I am using KY soy votive and pillar wax.

THanks, Karen

Before you pour into that pan Karen, you might wanta consider a different pan. Wilton makes a 24 mini muffin pan with raised edges so that you don't have to pour each tart individually. You just pour all the wax at once, pass a plastic scraper over it a couple times, and you're done. Works like a charm and saves tons of time. Takes exactly 24 oz of batch.

For tarts, do you still drop your temp to pour?

I let my temp drop to pour that way you don't get big sink holes in the center of the melt.
