OK, whose instructions do I follow? The wax instructions say to add at 175 degrees (or whatever) and the FO bottle says to add right before you pour. Which do I/you do? (BTW I use a 100% soy wax and pour when it gets slushy, this seems to keep me from getting wet spots in my containers) TIA

I use 100% soy too and add my FO around 165-170 and pour when the wax gets slushy. If I pour too hot, my tops look just terrible and I get airpockets.

Add in the 170-175 range. If you wait to add until right before you pour, you'll be adding around 100*, and that temp is nowhere near hot enough for the FO to bind to the wax. Those instructions are just downright silly, unless they think you're going to pour at 170*! FWIW, it's also helpful to stir the wax/FO very well when you add - stir for about 2 minutes to make sure that all the FO is incorporated. Then sit and wait and watch and obsess until your wax is slushy, LOL!

I use 100% soy, add FO around 170, and stir for at least 2 minutes. I know how confusing conflicting instructions / recommendations can be.

I would definately follow the wax directions as (hopefully) where you get your wax tests FO in it so they know at what temp is the best to have the FO and wax bind. The oil could be referring to any type wax and each is difference. Its confusing that's for sure so many little variables that make a BIG difference! HTH
