American Science & Surplus, one of my favorite companies may have struck again. They have an item that just could be just what I was looking for. It is a mini cooking pot on the same order as the presto pot, but a lot smaller, most likely made of steel, and a lot cheaper. I'm planning to order one for myself. Maybe some of you are interested?

Cute, and it just may work. But I need to melt more wax than that at a time.

that may work for when you just want to test one or two scents. Let us know how it does. I would be interested in hearing how it works out for you.

That would be perfect for repours... I always have a little wax left for repours and keep them on stove in a water bath.. I like this idea better... Good for when you are making tarts too. Keep the wax warm so you can pour another set right away. I like it. I'm off to that site. LOL.... Thanks for link.

Also good for people like me that do small batches for personal use. I already have one ordered. It's cheap enough to have several for different colors, etc.

Be sure to let us know how it works! I'd love it if it does actually get hot enough to melt wax. Andrea

At first it seemed it wouldn't get hot enough.

I covered the pot and in 15 minutes, it was melted. The trash and water shows up really well.

The water droplet in the middle of the pot is boiling. That says something about the temp.

Does it pour okay? I noticed it doesn't have a pour spout thingy. The price is definitely right!

No spout of any kind. I haven't tried to pour anything yet. I plan to install a mini valve like the larger pot conversion using a petcock instead of a ball valve.

I've gotten the hardware, now I need to figure out the size of hole this is going to take. The wall is too thin to simply thread it.

At this price, it would seem to be a great way to get my re-pour wax out of my large presto pots so I can start another batch of candles before I've completed my re-pour on the first batch! Wish it went up to 200 degrees though.

Have you checked to see just how high the temp actually got? Note added: I went to the site to check it out and have been there for 2 hours, just too many neat thingamajigs!
