Anyone thinking ahead to the holidays? It's almost the middle of July already, only 4 months 'til the start of the holiday rush Remember to start thinking about ordering supplies in advance so you don't get caught by longer than usual shipping delays.. I've had anise on my mind for a 2" pillar, so I might get that tested for wicking. And then back to some new soap testing - I rendered my own tallow, so I think I'll stick that in a batch. And I've got a sample of Cinnamon/Balsam that's crying out for a candle test.

Love that cinnamon balsam Since I can finally stand the heat in the kitchen, I'm back to pouring and grabbing anything to get into wax lol! We start up with shows again next month.

No pouring for me this week-end, I am finally getting away from here for a few days. My 2 girls and I are heading to the lake for a relaxing week-end of fun and sun without the DH. Everyone have a great week-end.

Think I'm going to start working on my fall votives. Got a few scents to test. Also trying to figure out what fall scents to order that will go over really well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Playing with my new Peaks sampler pack of fall & x-mas scents I got in Wed. Got a sample of Hot Cocoa for my freebie. It's awesome!! Can't wait to start pouring. Jenniejr, it's my first time trying Peaks scents for holidays, but if it helps, I got samples of Amish Harvest, Cornucopia, Spruce Christmas Tree, Home for the Holidays, Spiced Cranberry, & Sugar Plum Berries.

Woot!! Got LOTS in my pot this weekend, this WEEK actually, gotta love vacations!!! Let's see, already have done Fruit Slices, Hot Cocoa (issues there) and Cool Citrus Basil. And yes, Robin, already thinking ahead to the holidays, I've got several autumn scents from Peaks (Amish Harvest, Apple Jack & Peel, Cornucopia, Sweet Pumpkin Spice, Caramel Apple....a couple of others, computer too far from kitchen, what a drag ). All of those will be tested with votives (got stuck doing them, too much fun!) and given to my testers on Monday, then it's off to do a Green Tea pillar and another candle that I'd just assume not say anything until I get it done and posted in the gallery! For me, of course, got to have MY fun too! Bought a 1 x 12" hexagon taper that I'm dying to experiment with, for a friend who likes tapers, so getting ready to start with that. So busy, busy weekend for me to get my testers taken care of Monday and then once I'm done with those, MY candles.

Hubby has a fire dept test(last try before age limit ) then we have a wedding at 4pm about 45 min away..got a sitter.yippy! I started to get tester B&B Swap boxes in so been checking those out and getting my return boxes ready. Start my new job on Monday so if I am going to do anything candle or BB it will have to be Sunday..but wait Nascar is on..so I doubt it..maybe after kiddies are in bed. I want to pour spring rain..it has been looking at me..and wanting to jump into a pot of hot wax.

I have lots to do: Jars: 4 Jamaica Me Crazy; 1 Sweet Pea; 2 Cake Bake; 1 Clean Cotton; 1 Fresh Linen; 1 Juicy Pineapple; 2 Apple Cinnamon; 1 Ocean; 1 Fruit Slices; 4 cucumber melon votive cups; 36 honeysuckle votives; about 10 clamshells; prepare candles for a gift basket ($75-$100 range)and perfect the air fresheners and finish up the newly designed work space, do inventory and start planning for our open house in August and preparing for our first craft show in October. A light weekend.

I just got my Presto pot spigot (or is that spicket?) installed and sealed up, so it will go on it's maiden voyage this weekend! It'll get a shakedown run for when I work on my Christmas gift candle project. I tested one already using Home for the Holidays FO and I like, but at a 6% load it did not seem too strong. I have another one that has cured now for nearly two weeks, and I'll try another wick in it and check the throw. Probably need to try using 9% or more load. Also, in my Mad Scientist laboratory, I am close to debuting my Geekrunner's Monster, then sometime after that Son of Geekrunner's Monster! Bwahaahaahaa!

I found some cute glass containers at TJ Max with little bugs on them so I'm pouring Citronella/Lavendar in those and trying a cucumber melon/tangerine mix to see how I like it. Maybe some Green Tea votives and more White Tea and Ginger, love that one! Also getting my list together to order some fall scents.

My pot is cookin' up pillars for the Ann Arbor Art Fair; along with some votives and frosted tumblers...busy, busy, busy. Haven't even started with Fall/Winter stuff yet! Before I do, my house needs some serious attention, so once the Art Fair products are done, I will be cleaning up this "PIT"! Then on to Fall/Winter! Have a great weekend all!

Restocking for another festival next month! Lilac, Chocolate Brownie, Sea Breeze, Lavender, Pumpkin Pie, Love spell. Have to place a large order with Peaks to try some Christmas scents. I no sooner get finished with one festival when it's one to the next one! And When those are all through, get pourin for the holidays. What a way to mark the Year!
