Was wondering if my melt pool is too big on these, or if there is such a thing as having too big a melt pool?

The first one is a 8 oz Jelly Jar, with J223 wax and a 44-32-18 Zinc wick

The second one it a 16 oz Jar, with J223 wax and a 65-52-18 Zinc wick.

Was wondering if maybe I need to go down a size on both of them?

that first one looks deep. Its best for it to be about a 1/2 inche deep or so. How long had they been burning? Bottom one doesnt look to bad, but hard to tell from pic how deep.

Really need to trim wick on top one Smiley Might make melt pool not as deep if wick is trimmed.

How long did each of those candles burn before you took the pics?
