Please keep us posted. We are supposed to leave in the morning for a week at Siesta Key and are just not sure what to do.
Anyone who lives near there or Bradenton please let me know about the weather.

Blessings,
Don

We will keep you in our prayers.  I'm on the east coast and we are seeing the weather reports, we're looking at 3-5 inches of rain tomorrow, I can't imagine what you are going through.

I'm in Miami. Looks like Key West is going to catch this one good. It wouldn't take much of a shift to catch Miami. My generator is ready.

I just talked to the resort at Siesta Key and they said it looks like it will be more out in the gulf, so we are headed to Florida. See y'all in a week or so!

Don please take care...   At my meeting this am this storm is to be the equivalent if not stronger then Ivan(in Sept. 2004) for the panhandle. The coast of the panhandle is evacuating now,we are under voluntary evac for substandard housing. We are always voluntary, it is politics. But our shelters open tom. Gail force winds starting @ 2:00am. Sunday & increasingly getting worse from there. I will be out of contact from Sat. am until all is over because of being laison to E.M. for Fire Dept. I will be in lock down mode. All our Fire/Rescue will be on emergency mode also.
All your thoughts are appreciated. Wink

Hope everyone stays safe. I believe PanAnna is in the Panhandle and told me the other day she may leave. We are on the east coast of FL so we are safe from THIS one anyway. We will still get yucky weather from it. Some peeps haven't even recovered from last year's hurricanes including us. Makes you want to scream!!!

Well folks probably last post from me in a few days:if I get coverage(at Emergency Mangt.) I will "try" to ck in. But from Gov'soffice to us emergency responders: It is going to be probably, almost definetly worse then Ivan, for us. First time ever the state will set up fueling depot in our town for emergency vehicles. We have a Mst. Sgt. in our department, that works w/ Gov. & he is trying to get his wife & family to leave(he lives in a solid brick home) Tongue 1/2 mile from my home. But I won't be here due to lock down. So all, talk to ya later.

Right now we are in a motel in Tifton Georgia and getting ready to head on to Florida. things are looking better today than they were earlier for the area we are heading. This will probably be the last you hear from me until next weekend unless I can find some wirelss hotspot somewhere close to our condo.
We will be careful and will have fun.

Blessings,
Don
