Kinda interesting

My son and I visited my cousin who does accupuncture and chinese medicine while we were on vacation.  I mentioned some problems my son was having so she felt his pulse, put her hands on several places on his head etc.  She said his blood is hot.  I asked what that means.  She said he is hot. (Like, Duh)  I told her that I knew he was hot blooded, he sweats in his sleep and is a little hyper at times but he is red headed.  She said to stop feeding him beef, it is too hot for him.  Keep him away from spicy foods, especially ginger and garlic.  Also told me to go to the health food store and get some wolf berries for him.  It is BBQ season, how do I keep him away from ginger and garlic?

I guess I'll try it for a month and see if there is any improvement on his moods and attitude.  He hasn't had any beef or spice for 4 days and I don't see any improvement yet.

You can smoke the meat and use other sauces, like chicken. Just x out any ginger or garlic. Man I'd die if I had to give up smoked meats or BBQ.

I will not stop BBQ, I will just have to separate his from everything else.  No Montreal steak seasoning on his, no teriaki.  I'm so sad for him that he had to miss out on the flavor and just eat for the sake of eating.  Well, I did decide to do it for a month.  Besides, I don't think he even cares.  He doesn't much care for spicy foods, maybe it's natures way of telling me what is really right for him.

That really is interesting Carrie!  I'm curious to see how it affects him.  Is it for his moods or...?  I was only with him briefly but he seemed like a great kid to me!

That is very interesting Carrie.  Smiley
Please share your results. I wonder if these methods would work on an adult male?   Grin

My sister is a red head and she's always been quite the spit fire. A friend of mine is a red head too and is just the same as my sister. I've always heard that red heads are like that.  Tongue Maybe it is just the red hair.  Undecided

I'd be curious to see if you notice any change.
I've noticed red-headed kids seem to have more energy.  I certainly didn't notice anything out of the ordinary when I visited you and your son, but I wasn't around much.

I did go to an acupuncturist today and spoke with her about the whole beef/spicy foods thing and she completely agreed.  She told me a few other foods to possibly change in his diet.  I think it is worth a try.

Rsvlbrat, he was pretty good that day, aside from the dough in his ears, but he is 5...lol

Well, I've only seen him briefly 2 times, but I think he is a very well mannered child.  You are doing a great job raising him Carrie, I'm not so sure you need to change a thing.  If he doesn't mind the change I guess it won't hurt.  But I'd hate to take away so many things when he seems to be so well adjusted as it is.  Just my 2 cents.

My youngest daughter is a red head, and she is about as hot as they come! I have noticed w/ her too that certain foods really amplify the moods!
