Bunny's Bootylicious Body Butter

Bunny's Bootylicious Body Butter (This was tweaked from another recipe, can't take credit for building it, only for dramitically changing to to what works wonderfully for me) 57% Aloe Juice (or water, but I prefer the aloe) 3% Glycerin 7% Kokum Butter 5% Apricot Kernal Oil 5% Sweet Almond Oil 11% Ewax 5% Stearic 1% Cetyl Alcohol 2% Dry Flo 1% IPM 1% PS 80 1% Preservative (or as the manufacturer recommends) 1% fragrance Clean and sanitize counters, bowls, and anything that may come in contact with the ingredients. TIE YOUR HAIR BACK! (I learned this one quick.. Ewwww...lol) Bring aloe to 170 and keep it there for 20 minutes at least. Melt the ewax, stearic, and cetyl alcohol in the micro. When all is melted and the aloe is ready, add the glycerine to the aloe and and stir. While hand stirring, slowly pour your oils into your aloe. When all the aloe is in there, beat the tar out of it with the stickblender, taking care not to incorporate too much air. Let cool, blending every 5-10 minutes. As it cools, you will probably have to go to a whisk or a fork and this will get thick. When cool add the dry flo and IPM and blend. Then add the PS 80 and blend. Add fo/eo's color if desired and mix in throughly. Add preservative according to manufacturer's directions. This stuff is just awesome!

PS 80 is used to make oils water disbursable... The aloe you can pick up at wal mart near the metamucil. Sub the IPM for something.. like cyclo or more aloe or allantoin or something that says "YOU". Be creative, have fun!

Sub girl sub! Claim this and make it your own! Take out the cetyl alcohol and add in more ewax and or stearic. Use corn starch for the dry flo, pick up the ps 80 and IPM and cetyl alcohol at www.herbalsoapsbyrj.com and see what other lotion additives you can find. You don't have to make it exactly like mine, make what you can get from current suppliers. Don't know much about preservatives. Can't help you there...

Bunny.....one more question again on this one. When you say Aloe Juice do you really mean aloe juice? I saw some at in the pharmacy area and it's stuff you are suppose to drink? You do mean that right? I did't know people could drink aloe juice.

Yes, aloe juice - the drinkable stuff.. BUT, and a big ole BUT here, if you're making this to sell, use the 200x aloe powder instead of the juice. Less chance for buggies and stuff.

If you use the aloe powder instead of the juice, do you still use the same amount or do you use more/less powder?

I am going to have to try this recipe Bunny cuz your recipes are just awesome. I always do a recipe once and then tweak it to make it more mine, but I did leave Bunny's bath melt recipe in tact since it so nice but made another that I tweaked. I still like Bunny's the best though. I don't tie my hair back but use wear a "do rag" on my head to keep those stray hairs undercontrol. I keep a spray bottle in my room with a bleach water mixture to disinfect my area. Problem is, now I have bleach spots on lots of my clothes. But at least my skin is soft. LOL

| Depends on the strength of aloe.. Sub the water for the alow minus the percentage of aloe you use.. Like I use 200X and use it at .25% So I would use 56.75% water and to make the 57% ue .25 aloe powder. Put this in the water phase just like you would the aloe. Sorry it took me so long to see this, been out of town all weekend!

Bunny, thanks so much for sharing your wonderful recipes with us! I wanted to find out if this recipe will yield a butter that is a thick, cream/lotion, or if it makes more of a waxy, hard butter. I'm looking for a very thick lotiony creme (like the Body Shop's body butter), and I'd love to try yours if that will be the outcome. Thanks!

This recipie was designed to feel like TBS body butter! Too funny! If it's too greasy, just up your water/stearic and lower the oils. Have fun with it!

You're kidding!!!! That is wonderful news! My six-month-long quest for a recipe is finally over. Now if I could just figure out how to convince DH I need to make a new order from the sage......... Thank you SO much, and I'll let you know my results when I start experimenting - it'll be at least a month, though...I have to wait until we move, boo!

K I got 2 silly questions here, but I have yet to make anything, and I don't want to screw this up. When exactly do you add the melted ewax, steric and cetyl into the aloe? I'm thinking that you melt these seperatly from the aloe, then add to aloe, before adding the oils. Is this correct? It says to slowly add oils to aloe, then "when all aloe is in there" so do you add oils to aloe or aloe to oils, or does it not matter? I know these questions must seem silly, but in some recipes it matters which you add to which, like with lye and water. TIA!
