Trusty lady, to your question first...I just gave the main ingredients to this recipe. Most people run it thru a lye calculator to see how much lye and water to use. If you go to http://www.the-sage.com and plug all the quantities into the calculator. It will come up with a range of amounts of lye you can use. I usually go about 6%. It will explain all this on the calculator page. It will also suggest a range of water to use. I usually use the suggested top amount-thus not discounting any water. Chopsgirl, I have never made HP but am sure you could use this recipe for it as well.

Lizzy, Thank you for sharing this recipe. I made it last Friday and just washed my hands with it and it's WONDERFUL! I can't wait to take a shower tomorrow morning. I think DH is really going to love this one.

when you make this bar, does it feel softer than other bar because of the shea. I made this recipe like 4 weeks ago and it is sorta soft still. I was just wondering

| I made a batch using this recipe over a week ago and the middle is very soft. I made another batch 2 nights ago and let it get to a thicker trace and it is way harder than the other batch.

| You could try it but run it threw a lye calculator to see how much lye to use.
