I have found and actually use a bath bomb recipe that calls for borax!  The recipe says the borax softens the water, I just looked at the box and it says natural laundry booster, used on a lot of differ things, one being baby clothes.  I wouldn't think they would advertise this for liablity reasons if harmful to sensitive baby skin.  If your interested in finding out the box has a product info #, its 1-800-457-8739 (product name 20 Mule Team Borax).  Box also has normal warnings of keep away from eyes and don't ingest (nothing about skin contact).  HTH Smiley

Hello  Cheesy
I would like to know why borax is used.  Isn't it harmful, especially on the skin as chlorinated bleach?  Is there a substitute that's natural?
Thanks,
Colette

Hi Colette,  I called the 1-800 # I posted (I tried last night but it wasn't 24 hr so had to wait for today).  She said it isn't chlorinated bleach, but it has not been tested to be used directly on skin so we shouldn't use it -bottom line (we kinda went round and round about it that's why I say bottom line per our converstaion).  She said it was a laundry booster for clothes not skin!  HTH Smiley

EmbarassedI was one too who used it Embarassed.  After the conversation w/ the rep today I won't.  Used it in a testing batch of bath bombs.  This really does show that I need to be more careful about the recipes I get off the internet and research the ingred as I took this one at face value.

Thanks for the nice comment about my website.  Have just started on my B&B line 3 months ago.  Life keeps getting in the way as I need to finish up testing a few more products so I can add a few under B&B category.  Like everyone I need to be 100% sure of my product before I put it out there! You're welcome.
Thanks for your research.  I've learned that I have to be careful also.
