CP'd a sample of spiced cranberry, and also tried a double swirl, one with gold mica, but it didn't work. This time I tried swirling in the log mold instead of in the pot. I'm swirl challenged for sure - these are the 2 best bars, the others aren't as even. FO behaved nicely at .5 oz ppo, no discoloration.

Thanks!

A good place to start is to either read Susan Cavitch's Soapmakers Companion http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0882669656/qid=1066402903/ sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-4845994-3019308?v=glance&s=books , or take a cruise through http://millersoap.com There's thousands of different cold process recipes, the SMC book has some good basic ones.

Robin, those are lovely! Way to go.
I tried a few "spiced" scents and they irritated my skin so now I stay away from them. How is the spice as far as the spiced cranberry go? I do love cranberry.  Cheesy

Gorgeous, Robin. Someday I'll dive into that. Your soaps are very inspiring. Smiley

That's probably why Peak's spiced cranberry is soap safe, it's actually more cranberry than spice. A tart fruit with a bit of spice to warm it up. Most of the other spiced cranberries I've used in candles are much heavier in the spice.

I've tried an end already and didn't notice any problems with the spice - haven't tried it on my face yet.

Robin, those are beautiful! It really makes me want to try my hand at some CP soaps.

I remember doing CP in high school chemistry. Mine looked like chalky deformed biscuits. Undecided
