Best way to wrap soap??

I need some opinions on the best way to package / wrap bars of soap. Is it okay to wrap it tightly in say, saran wrap? or something similar? I just don't care for the look of cellophane around the soap. Any ideas would be helpful.

Shrink wrap is nice. I've also seen some nice soap wrapped in muslin (sp?) bag type things. Of course you can't see the soap, but you could smell it though the bag.

Are you talking about melt an pour, or CP?  It does make a difference.  Food-type plastic wrap is fine for melt and pour, but CP needs to breathe.

I wrap my soaps (CP) with shrink wrap bands, that are open at the ends.  This protects the soap from a lot af handling, but people can still touch and smell it.  People won't buy if they can't smell and touch!

Like Andrea said, most M&P I've seen is plastic wrapped, since M&P is usually fancier and you want to see the designs. I've heard a Walmart brand is super stretchy and sticky. For CP there's oodles of ways:
naked
boxed
cigar band
bagged
ribbon w/ hangtag

I do a 1/2 box that I make on my printer.

That is awesome!!!!
I do M&P for my customer and I shrink wrap them.
I purchase them from
http://www.thesage.com/catalog/index.html
You can find soap band's under the shrink wrap section and they leave both ends open to smell the soap. My customer just love them and I like the way it's done. It's not as fancy as the other 2 post up there by any means, but it works and they are cheap.
Hope this helps you

Robin,
Forgot to ask is it a simple program that you use and what's the paper cost to make these. It's a really neat thing. Would love to learn more about it.

Steve, I get my shrink bands there, too!  Great service, and usually 2 day delivery for me.

Sorry, Steve, didn't see your question before:

I use Illustrator for all my labeling, actually DH does it cuz he's a graphic artist type. So we do it on a Mac. He designs it on the Mac, it creates a PDF file that I save on my puter so I can print using my regular ink jet printer.

You could probably use any type of drawing program, you just have to measure what you want and draw lots of rectangles and stuff.

I cut it up, fold and glue it. The paper is cardstock parchment that I get from http://suburbanpaperproducts.com/ Or you could brave a scrapbooking store in your area - they usually carry 8.5 x 11 cardstock or specialty paper.

There's also something floating around some craft stores that's called Aleens BoxMaker I think. Ours doesn't have it, but it's supposedly an easy way to make your own boxes.

Thanks so Much for the response. I do M&P and band it, but I love the box Idea. I just don't want to by the kraft box's on the market for the soap.
I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip
