Is there some kind of formula (remember..I am math stupid!) to figure up how much of a batch I'll need to make to fill a mold?  Here - Simpler explanation...

I found a cardboard box I want to try out as a slab mold, and I don't know for sure how much soap it'll hold... I thought I'd seen it somewhere, but searched here and there and having no luck.... Cry

I believe that the length x width x height x .4 works.

Well, I gotta staple gun...And may need to get it out..Cause the box I thought would be "perfect" will take - If I figured correctly, 12.6# of soap!!!  Shocked Shocked  Just a weeeee bit more than I anticipated...

Soooo... back to the box stockpile...lmao...Then again...DH is wanting to go north today..And there's a KMart there... Perhaps I could find one of those rectangular silicone cake pans there... Only way to get that size at our wally-world is to buy a big boxed set of $hit I don't need.... Undecided

ok then... Least now I know..hehehe  Wink

Or, if you're at KMart, get what's called a Martha Mold by the soapers...  It's really a silverware holder, and either comes in a one section rectangle or a three section rectangle.  Have heard of people having great success with these!

Walmart has rubbermaid drawer organizers that work well too.

I have been using the 3 section "martha mold" from KMart. I can fill 2 sections of it with a 3 lb batch of soap pouring it 1 inch deep. I think it was about 6 bucks.
